According to ReCode.net Instagram Starts Getting Serious About Ads. Expect More Buttons, More Targeting — And More Ads.
Instagram : Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables its users to take pictures and videos, and share them via app on a variety of social networking platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr. The service was acquired by Facebook in April 2012 for approximately US$1 billion in cash and stock.
Instagram app is used by a large number of a people on their mobile phones and smartphones because there is no availability of accessing and uploading the pictures and videos on the instagram website. The users love instagram for its multi functioning, creativity features and easy to use interface and mainly there is not more no fake accounts, contents and specially no disturbing ads which allow users to install candy crush games or any app. But now Instagram is testing an ad format that lets viewers click on a link to purchase a product or install an app.
Facebook earns plenty of money ‘$3.5 billion in the first three months of this year’. But this step for the parent company may seems to make it easier for advertisers to find you. Right now, Instagram advertisers only have access to comparatively crude targeting tools: The purchasing features on Instagram’s new ad format is likely a welcome tool for many brands who have struggled in the past to convert their followers on the platform into buyers. They know your age, gender and what country you live in, provided that you told Facebook that stuff. But it’s going to start offering more granular access to the data you generate when you’re on Facebook, and also let advertisers bring in data they have about your activities outside of Facebook. That means much more valuable ads for Facebook or Instagram.
Lets see how this update helps the advertisers and specially is this appreciable to the Instagram users.
