Good Bye Orkut – Thank you

Hi,
Everyone.

Today i am a little bit sad to know about the news of orkut shutdown. Yes, ist time now to Good Bye Orkut. Today is the last day of my first social network – Orkut. Orkut was one of the most liked and used Social Network by Google. I have really enjoyed it a lot and it has always been entertaining, fun and i have learnt a lot through the activities which we do while scraping and use the communities as QA (Questioning and Answering) people and also in voting Polls.

Good Bye Orkut
Good Bye Orkut – Thank you

Many people left orkut because Facebook, Myspace etc. They have overtaken Orkut in Features and Design. The people behind orkut have really tried to make every thing possible to make a space into the heart of the users and they have almost accomplished it any how but later Google’s very own Google Plus have launched which results into the shutdown of Orkut. As Google wants to concentrate on the products like G+, Blogger and Picasa to run better on the internet and want people to make use of it efficiently.

The blog post on the official orkut blog they said “We will shut down Orkut on September 30, 2014. Until then, there will be no impact on current Orkut users, to give the community time to manage the transition. People can export their profile data, community posts and photos using Google Takeout (available until September 2016). Starting today, it will not be possible to create a new Orkut account. Orkut, the service, may be going away, but all of those incredible communities Orkut users have created will live on. We are preserving an archive of all public communities, which will be available online starting September 30, 2014. If you don’t want your posts or name to be included in the community archive, you can remove Orkut permanently from your Google account. Please visit our Help Center for further details. ”

And Yesterday, the latest post from the official orkut blog has said “Today, we are bidding tchau to Orkut. But, as we announced at the end of June, while the service may be going away, its history of connections and conversations will live on. For a decade now, millions of people, spread around the world, have been brought together by common interests and lively discussion to form a vast collection of vibrant communities. And, as of today, public content on those communities is being preserved in the Orkut Community Archive: 51 million communities, 120 million topics, and more than 1 billion interactions.” it has been also said further that the archeieves can remove Orkut permanently from your Google account at any time.

I have taken a screenshot of my last update and status on Orkut. which i want to share with you all.
